Practice sessions are presented on three levels:

1. Academy:  The objective of the academy is to teach members how to skate and do basic stick handling. The academy is coached by Rozie Cronje.
2. Intermediate group:  The intermediate group focus on basic ice hockey skills like stick handling, passing- and skating with the puck. The intermediate group is coached by Michael Harris.
3. Advanced group:  The advanced group focus on drills that teach how to play the game and focus on specific advanced techniques and skills. The advanced group is coached by Riaan Willemstijn.

We have two practice sessions per week:

• Thursdays: 17H15 - 18H15 Academy and 18H15-19H15 Intermediate and Advanced Practice
• Fridays: 18:00-19:00 Scrimmage - By Invitation Only, sunbject to payment of additional fees (See Fee Structure)

Please take note that players need to arrive earlier than the indicated time to "kit".

Club Fees:

The club fees are dependent on the sessions the member attends. Fees are payable up front.

Option 1:

• Attend the practice sessions on Thursdays only.
• R350 per month. If paid before the 7th of the month a R50 discount will be applied reducing the fee to R300.

Option 2:

• Attend the sessions on Thursdays AND Fridays (Scrimmage).
• R450 per month. If paid before the 7th of the month a R50 discount will be applied reducing the fee to R400.

For new members there is a registration fee of R 200 when joining. 

The fees indicated EXCLUDE affiliation fees to be paid once per annum to the South African Ice Hockey Association to affiliate players. This currently amounts to about R150 per player per annum.

If a player is selected to participate in the Gauteng Ice Hockey League the league game fees are additional to your club fees.

Club Jerseys and Socks:

Our Jerseys are made by CCM and imported from the USA, therefore the quality is of a very high standard. The jersey can be purchased with or without an embroidered club logo (Front) and your number (Back).  The cost is as follows:

Jersey:  R450
Logo:  R250
Number:  R60
Socks:  R220

Orders can be placed with the club manager and must be accompanied by the full payment or deposit.

How to Join the Club

If you are interested in joining the club or start playing Ice Hockey, you are welcome to visit us at one of our practice sessions. Ask for Marinus and he will assist you with all your questions. You are also invited to join us one Thursday evening for a free lesson to assist you in your decision. To make use of the Free session you have to contact the Club Manager at 0823094100 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it prior to the day you intend to join the session so that the necessary arrangements can be made. No new players will be allowed on the ice without any prior arrangement with the Club Manager.

If you want to join the club please for to our Downloads page on the Web Site and Download both the SAIHA Registration Form and the Club Registration Form (See http://www.icehawks.net/index.php/downloads/category/1-registration). These need to be completed and handed in together with your Registration fee (unless otherwise arranged) as well as your first months' club fees at your first official practice session.

The club is registered with the Gauteng Ice Hockey Association (GIHA) as well as the South African Ice Hockey Association (SAIHA). We follow the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) curriculum for training purposes.
